Solution Architect

Amsterdam As Area Architect for Publishing Services you are one of the key players that help define the shared services within our digital publishing products. Our services reach all of DPG Media’s publishing brands, such as AD, Volkskrant, HLN, NU.nl, Libelle, Ouders van NU.

Our current product domains are Audio (podcasts, text-to-speech), Video and Games and more domains will be added in the near future.

We believe that the expertise of the specific domains are within the respective teams. You as an Area Architect support these teams in decision making and keep the overview over the domains to create a stable, robust, and efficient technical landscape that integrates well within our internal ecosystem.

As Area Architect you:

• Understand that only working software delivers business value. You support our cross-functional squads in an Agile and DevOps environment. 

• Translate the business roadmap into a "town" plan and technical roadmap for our Area. 

• Help the team make design decisions and keep the technical quality unquestionably high, working according to the principles of Domain Driven Design and Aligned Autonomy.  

• Include and involve stakeholders in the considerations of the team.

• Work closely with other architects, interesting sparring partners at your disposal. You actively participate in the Architects' Guild and enjoy sharing knowledge, experience and best practices. 

• Have experience in and are passionate about design, architecture and agile product development.

• Have an agile mindset and experience within Scrum or other Agile environments. You are team-oriented, curious, open-minded and eager to learn. 

• Aim for continuous improvement. To you, small iterations and value delivery are self-evident.

Your profile

• +3 years of experience in solution architecture

• Extensive experience with Domain-Driven Design and architectural best practices.

• Proven track record in modeling, maintaining, and communicating architectural visions and priorities.

• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and facilitate community practices.

• Experience in guiding and coaching teams in architectural decision-making and consistency

• Proficiency with cloud services (preferably AWS)
