Amsterdam – Reach 91% of all Dutch people with your work! As a SecDevOps Engineer, you will have a direct impact on our technical service environment by working alongside a team of experts. Together, you’ll help shape and maintain our shared services within our digital publishing products. Our services are used by all of DPG Media’s publishing brands, including AD, Volkskrant, HLN, NU.nl, Libelle, Ouders van NU.
Our current product domains are Audio (podcasts, text-to-speech), Video and Games and more domains will be added in the near future.
In this role, you will ensure our environments remain stable, robust, and cost-efficient. Additionally, you’ll play a key role in the further development of our audio domain portfolio.
What will you be doing?
As a SecDevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability of our environments, ensuring efficiency, and supporting the evolution of our services. You’ll be a key player in shaping the future of our audio domain portfolio. You’ll also work on the development of new services and make sure our systems are both secure and scalable.
This role is crucial to avoid issues with system stability and performance that can affect millions of users.
You’ll be involved in:
Building CI/CD flows using Github Actions
Maintaining our current Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) setup
Developing and defining monitoring and alerting systems
Managing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters running on AWS EKS
Who are we?
We are a cross-functional, agile development team that consists of individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds. Our home base is the Amsterdam office (Mediavaert), conveniently located near editorial teams and other digital teams that work on the platform. We work in a hybrid model, with two days in the office each week, and the rest of the time working remotely.
What makes you the ideal candidate?
We are looking for a driven and technically skilled SecDevOps Engineer. You are someone who enjoys problem-solving, is passionate about security and automation, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Additionally, you possess:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience as a SecDevOps Engineer
Strong proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Shell, Kotlin)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Crossplane)
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
A solid understanding of cloud computing platforms and services, specifically AWS
