What will you be doing?
As a Rust Developer at Reclamefolder.nl, you will be responsible for the further development of our brand-new greenfield platform. Together with the team, you will determine the technological direction and participate in various multidisciplinary projects within Reclamefolder.nl. Your work will primarily focus on backend development in Rust, which forms the core of our website and apps. The current platform is being gradually migrated to the greenfield platform and phased out. Therefore, you will also play a role in maintaining the current platform and ensuring this transition runs smoothly.

Your focus will be on:

• 70% development and technical challenges of the greenfield platform.

• 20% maintenance and development of our current platform.

• 10% organizational agreements.

• Sparring with colleagues about technological challenges and solutions.

• Collaborating on multidisciplinary projects within Reclamefolder.nl.

At Reclamefolder.nl, we believe it is possible to help people save on their daily expenses. Our app and website are used by 1.5 million Dutch users every month. We are currently transitioning to a completely renewed digital platform, giving the traditional advertising flyer a modern makeover.

What makes you the ideal candidate?
For this role, we are looking for a driven developer who embraces the challenge of a fast-evolving organization and can immediately add technical quality to our projects. You possess:

• Extensive experience with Rust development, including architecture, infrastructure, quality control, and automated testing.

• Knowledge of TypeScript and Postgres.

• Understanding of Kubernetes and Google Cloud.

• Experience with GraphQL and an affinity for continuous integration, monitoring, and data storage.

• The ability to quickly master new technologies.

For our greenfield platform, we expect you to quickly feel at home with new tech and have experience with topics such as architecture, infrastructure, quality control, automated testing, monitoring, continuous integration, and data storage/analysis. It is a plus if you have already mastered some of our specific choices.

We currently use Rust, Poem, OpenAPI, OpenSearch, Postgres (sqlx), Kubernetes, and Pulumi Infrastructure-as-Code. For the front-end, we use TypeScript and React (NextJS). Our native apps are built in Kotlin (Android) and Swift (iOS). The platform and the team are constantly evolving, and we are always open to improvements and new insights.
