Rotterdam - As a Scrum Master for the Freemium & Entertainment Area you will work on team building and team spirit, ensuring a strong collaboration between team members. You are the guardian of the scrum process and have a (digital) third eye for what the teams need in order to meet the sprint goals and to improve a little every day. You are an agile chameleon; facilitator, advisor, coach, you got it all and your agile mindset and skillset allow you to adapt seamlessly between all these roles.

On a daily basis, our content reaches millions of users, making DPG Media the biggest media house of The Netherlands and Belgium. We have built a white-label platform for web and app which serves our 2 biggest national news brands AD.nl and HLN.be, as well as 8 regional brands in the Netherlands and Belgium. And on top of that a great media platform that serves high quality audio, video and games to our broad portfolio of brands within DPG Media. 

About the team

We have 4 development teams, of which 2 will be under your inspirational leadership.
Our teams consist of people from the Netherlands and Belgium. A few of the many cultures we have in our teams. Our home base is our Rotterdam office - located right next to Rotterdam Central Station - and close to our editorial staff and other digital teams that work on this platform. Currently, we embrace a hybrid working model. We are one/two days per week in the office, the rest we work from home.

What you’ll be doing

• Facilitate the scrum rituals such as stand-ups, refinements and retrospectives

• Help the PO’s and other area members to getting things done

• Work continuously to improve and stimulate the self-organising attitude of your teams

• Make a difference by creating a positive work environment, even when the pressure is on

• Always seek for ways to improve the area and all its members (including PO’s, Area Manager and teams)

• Must have experience as a Scrum Master, solid knowledge of Agile and Scrum

• Born communicator who makes connections and stimulates conversation (within and between the teams, stakeholders and colleague scrum masters), you turn groups into teams

• Positive mindset and ‘can-do’ mentality: you turn problems into solutions, and always seek for improvement

• You can drive change and get people on board with that

• You get energy from working in an agile, fast-paced and continuously innovating environment

• Experience with mobile development
