Amsterdam - As a Scala Developer you will work on building the next generation marketplace ad technology for the recruitment and staffing industry. You will help us create the innovation required to remain at the top of the employment branch.

About us
Aimwel’s systems fully automates the distribution of our clients’ jobs to various advertisement platforms. Our goal: delivering our clients’ jobs to the right candidates. We started doing this for the Dutch labour market (Intermediair & Nationale Vacaturebank), and are now going global.

What you’ll do
As backend Scala engineer you will work on building the next generation marketplace platform. As part of one of the multidisciplinary teams you will be working on integrations with advertisement platforms, integrating with our internally trained machine learning models, or working on enhancing commerce management capabilities to add value to a multitude of companies. This is all done in a modern distributed microservices system architecture.

Our stack: Scala, ZIO, Axon, AWS and Kubernetes.

Job requirements

Who you are
For this role, we are really looking for someone who understands business needs and can turn problems into software solutions. Also, you should be interested in industry developments and good at keeping your knowledge relevant and recent. 

  • Several years of experience in OOP/FP (Java/Scala) to demonstrate a level of maturity; 
  • Experience with Event Sourcing or CQRS is a plus. 
  • Comfortable working with AWS or other cloud environments.
