We’re looking for a talented IT Area Manager in the DPG Online Services organisation to lead our B2B and B2C Development teams. DPG Recruitment consists of two brands: Nationale Vacaturebank & Intermediair. On our platforms we aim to match job seekers with vacancies and help them in their professional development.

What you’ll be doing

  • As IT Area Manager you have final responsibility for the development and maintenance of our platforms. As the team’s people and resource manager, you’ll be directing the delivery of product value within the available budget, against required quality, in the shortest possible time. You have budget responsibility for IT and build upon the Agile structures already in place. You organise the organisation around business value, bring customer focus, and work with all stakeholders to successfully align business and IT perspectives.
  • With more and more internal employees joining our stable and long-living teams, your role as a people manager is becoming increasingly important. Supported by a dedicated Scrum Master, it also means that you create the best performing teams by recruiting, developing, retaining (and letting go) of the people in the teams. The IT Area Manager drives organisational capability improvements and decides on structure and policies for the area in line with the frames set out with the management team.
  • In close collaboration with the other IT Area Managers and the management team of DPG Recruitment, you drive the operational implementation of DPG Media’s IT strategy for your platforms. You will help our business stakeholders create a high-level roadmap that meets the business objectives that the teams will work on. You understand the business and IT challenges and what it takes to turn them into the required business capabilities aligned with the IT strategy. You bring some fun, celebrate success, and have a close eye on how we can learn from failures!

Who you are
Your leadership style will be an important aspect to manage internal and external stakeholders, foster continuous improvement and business & IT alignment. We are looking for a colleague experienced in and passionate about people and high performing teams, who is result driven and fosters customer alignment. Further you are someone who knows how to combine those. Enthusiastic storytelling, relationship building and results-orientation are going to be key elements for the new IT Area Manager.

  • Have practical experience with team management & performance, product development, change management, and business-IT alignment in larger enterprises.

  • Have a background in IT development and/or Software Architecture.

  • Having knowledge about Scala and PHP in particular is a pre.

  • You value the importance of qualitative deliverables and can balance quality and speed to deliver the results.

  • Although we usually write in English, we expect you to be fluent in Dutch.
