Elixir developer

Job description

As a developer at the Entertainment area, you will build innovative software solutions which support our millions of visitors every day in their entertainment and relaxation. Together with the team, you will build on the biggest short-form video, podcasts, puzzles, (live)quizzes and games platform of the Netherlands and Belgium. Your effort services many of our large brands such as AD.nl, HLN.be and Volkskrant.nl, just to name a few.

The Entertainment Area has a strong ‘make it happen’ culture with driven, enthusiastic and dedicated professionals. Thanks to the hyper dynamic environment and the broad scope of our products, no day will look the same and getting bored is virtually impossible: One day you will work on improving our VMS, the next day you are working on personalised push notifications or building a gamification feature.

What are you going to do

You would be joining a highly capable team which is end to end responsible for the platform: The entire team consists of 12 developers, covering both the backend, web frontend and mobile apps.

You will build backend applications/features in the cloud to realise the ambitions we have for audio, video and puzzles&games. In doing that, you will always be striving for the best code quality and applying security measures. We work according the ‘you build it, you run it’ principle. So you will be working both on new components and doing day-to-day operations of all our backend components. We expect you to continuously share knowledge with your peer developers and actively contribute to making sure our platform grows and moves in the right direction. We work with: Elixir, RoR, AWS, DynamoDB, Terraform, Elasticsearch

It's quite common that not everything is laid out before you. We work together with these values: positivity, authenticity, creativity, spontaneity and collaboration.
