Amsterdam - Quality is your trademark as a QA Engineer and you take great pride and responsibility to deliver the best products to our millions of customers together with the team that you will be working with.

As a QA Engineer in our Selectives Area you’re part of a multifunctional Scrum team, creating the best experiences for websites and apps for the premium brands of DPG Media: Volkskrant, Trouw, Parool, De Morgen, Humo, Libelle, Margriet and Flair. We take pride in building and maintaining a multi-label platform where millions of daily visitors read their favorite news or magazine title.

We are looking for a QA Engineer to strengthen our team and further develop our platform.

The Area consists of six multidisciplinary feature teams that all work together on a shared roadmap. The team consists of Backend (Kotlin), Android, iOS and Web developers and of course QA Engineers.

What are you going to do

You will be the conscience of the team and product owner. Asking critical questions about the criteria of what needs to be delivered, defining the test strategy with the team and together with the team write and maintain various tests to cover the code and lower the risk.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Collaborate with the product manager and development team to understand project requirements and define comprehensive test plans that effectively cover various use cases and edge cases.

  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate software functionality, performance, security, and usability.

  • Report and document defects in a clear and concise manner.

  • Perform regression testing to ensure that new features and enhancements do not adversely affect existing functionality.

  • Continuously enhance the test automation suite to cover new features and increase testing efficiency.

  • An experience-based salary

  • 12% personal choice budget (of which is 8% holiday allowance)

  • Participating in profit every year.

  • 36-hour working week

  • Over 350 training opportunities in our own academy. We also pay for your training that isn't in our academy. If you'd like to become TOGAF certified, we'd be happy to offer you this.

Who you are

As a successful QA Engineer you have a positive and solution-oriented approach towards team members and stakeholders. You actively acquire information from stakeholders, rather than relying on written specifications. Also, you work with a QA mindset by making quality control a team approach rather than doing all the testing yourself.

We also expect of you:

  • Experience in working in a continuous delivery environment with a high focus on automation.

  • Experience with test automation frameworks.

  • A bonus is when you have experience with Playwright, Espresso and XCUItest.
