About the team

The News Personalisation Team is a small team of engineers, scientists, and research interns. The team is responsible for personalising the news products across major Dutch and Belgian news titles (Volkskrant, AD, Trouw, Parool, HLN, De Morgen and many others) owned by DPG Media. The team is responsible for training models and for deploying and maintaining them in production, including all surrounding infrastructure.

What you’ll do
You are challenged to have an impact on the way millions of people consume news content. Building and managing applications, used by many products across our organization, is part of your responsibility. You will be using:

  • cutting edge machine learning technologies, including new open source tools
  • deep learning models
  • state of the art language models

Job requirements

About you

As a senior machine learning engineer you have experience working with big data technologies and you are capable of making decisions in a broad technical framework. You are familiar with AWS/cloud technologies and have experience monitoring and maintaining complex infrastructure. Also you:

  • are not afraid to deal with high volume data pipelines
  • are familiar and keep up to date with the latest developments and technologies in the field
  • are able to translate business requirements into system designs, execute and implement those designs
  • can contribute to making architectural and design decisions within the team
  • have experience working with and mentoring junior team members
